One webinar, five clips: long recordings into short ones — step 4 of 9

Four checks before a clip gets a slot

The AI handles the first pass well. It reads 7,400 words in seconds and finds moments a person would spend an afternoon looking for. What it can't judge is what Fieldnote should post under its own name, so these four checks are yours.

1. It makes sense alone. Someone scrolling has never heard of Marta or the webinar. The first line has to work with no setup, and the clip has to end where a thought ends. Openings like "like I said" or "going back to that" mean the clip starts in the wrong place. Moving the start a few seconds often fixes it, so check the transcript before you throw a candidate out.

2. It fits the slot. Dana's limit is 60 seconds. When a moment runs long, trim the start and end down to its strongest part. Speeding the audio up to fit makes Marta sound rushed, so trim instead.

3. Every word is true and approved. Any price, number or promise in a clip gets traced to a source, the same way the numbers pass traced the report to the export. Captions must match what Marta says word for word, which means a wrong number can't be fixed in the caption, because the audio still says it. AI captions also mishear names. Expect "Fieldnote" to come back as "field note" and "Swiss Water decaf" as "sweet water decaf", and read every caption before it posts. Claims about health or focus stay out entirely, because the fall tier brief only allows claims about taste, price and shipping.

4. Everyone in it agreed. Marta agreed to have clips cut from her webinar. Viewers agreed to a recorded session, and that's a smaller thing than appearing in a promoted clip. When a viewer's name is read aloud, start the clip after the name.

The line of text you put on screen goes through the same checks. The AI will suggest one for each clip, and that line is copy like any other: it passes the voice pack from lesson 1 (no banned phrases, 10 words or fewer for short-form) and it promises nothing the clip doesn't deliver.
