One recording, two weeks of clips
You're in the campaign studio. What you're doing this lesson: turn one long recording into a short list of clips you'd put Fieldnote's name on, then give each clip a day on the calendar. There is no code in this lesson, and every graded step is a call you'd make at work.
Fieldnote ran a live tasting webinar last Thursday to launch the fall tier. Marta Lind, the head roaster, brewed four coffees and took questions from viewers. The recording sits in a shared folder, and very few people will ever watch the whole thing. Short vertical clips are how most of the relaunch audience will meet Marta, so your job is to find the best moments, check them, and schedule them.
Here's what you have, before you start:
- The recording: 48 minutes, with a timestamped transcript of about 7,400 words.
- The audience so far: 520 people registered and 214 watched live.
- The slots: five short clips across the two-week push, on days 1, 3, 6, 9 and 12.
- Dana's limits: every clip runs under 60 seconds, is vertical, and has captions.
- The price sheet: the fall tier is $16 for a 12 oz bag. The same bag costs $19.50 in the Fieldnote shop, so the tier saves $3.50 a bag.
- The shipping promise in the brief: beans ship the Monday after they're roasted, and subscribers can skip a week anytime.
- The approvers: Dana or Sam signs every row, the same as the calendar in lesson 2.
What you'll make: a clip plan. It's one table listing the clips you'll post, where each one starts and ends, the line of text on screen, the day it goes out and who approved it. Under the table you list the clips you cut and why.
How the lesson runs:
- Read the one-paragraph prompt Fieldnote used and the eight moments the AI found.
- Pick the clip that opens the push.
- Learn the four checks every clip has to pass.
- Make three calls: a wrong price, a line of screen text, and a plan row that isn't ready.
- Take the clip plan template with you.
It takes about 22 minutes.
